A quick guide to making super payments with Beam
Whether you’ve registered and are preparing to make your first payment, or you want to understand more about how Beam works, here’s a look at how to make super payments using Beam.
Beam connects to your payroll software, then does the hard work for you by tracking and calculating employee super amounts as you pay them their wages. With Beam, everything you need is in the one place, helping to lighten your super payments workload. Here’s how it works.
Step 1: Connect
If you’re a customer of one of our payroll partners, the good news is Beam is already available with the software you use. To get started, just connect to Beam in your payroll. It only takes a few minutes and involves a short registration process directly from your payroll.
Step 2: Create
When it’s time to pay super next, Beam will track and calculate the super you need to pay your employees. Within your payroll you’ll be able to generate a payment batch that includes all your employees’ super payments in one go. You won’t need to export this or re-upload it anywhere.
Beam makes it possible to complete the payment process all within the one place.
Step 3: Validate
Once your payment batch is created, Beam will check the data in real time, looking for any errors that might cause payment delays or refunds (think things like incorrect or missing employee details).
We’ll let you know if there’s anything that needs to be fixed and allow you to make the changes before you pay. If there’s any details that you need more time to track down, Beam can withhold individual payments, so the rest of the batch can be paid on time.
Step 4: Pay
Beam offers a variety of payment options. Depending on which of our payroll partners you’re with, you’ll have options including Direct Debit, EFT or BPay. Choose the option that best suits you from within your payroll and confirm your payment.
That’s it – your super payments will be on their way to your employees. Plus, you’ll be able to access a record of your payments in your payroll software, streamlining your record keeping too.
