Payday super has been legislated

It’s official, payday super is on the way.  

The legislation has now received Royal Assent, with the new rules set to come into effect on 1 July 2026.

Closure of the ATO’s SBSCH

As part of the payday super legislation, 1 July 2026 will also be the day the ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) closes down.

In the lead up to this change, no new employers have been able to register for the SBSCH since 1 October 2025, with only existing users now able to make payments through the service.
